Calm Shores

Have you seen how the waves return to the shore,

Crashing gently, endlessly, forevermore?
Each touch a whisper, a soft little kiss,
A tender moment of effortless bliss.

Isn’t it sweet, this dance of the sea?
A love so simple, yet vast as can be.
And aren’t we the same, in life’s fleeting tides,
With hearts that long, but too often hide?

The ones we hold dear, like waves to the sand,
Deserve our return, a touch of our hand.
For what is this life, if not these small graces,
The love we exchange, the time that erases?

So pause for a moment, reach out today,
To friends, to family, don’t let love delay.
Give them a peck, a hug, or a word,
For in these connections, life’s song is heard.

Without these bonds, we’re adrift, we’re apart,
But with them, we carry the soul of our heart.
